Innuos STREAM1
The STREAM1 is Innuos's entry into the Stream platform, and that word "entry" needs context. This is not a stripped-down product with compromised engineering. It runs the same 13th-generation Intel quad-core processor and 8GB DDR5 RAM as the STREAM3. Same real-time Linux kernel. Same modular output bay approach. Same Sense 3 software. What it doesn't have is the STREAM3's ARC6-CX power supply or its full-sized chassis — and those differences are real and audible. But the platform itself is the same.
The Platform
13th-generation Intel quad-core processor running Innuos's custom real-time Linux kernel — the same OS build across the entire STREAM line. 8GB DDR5 RAM. SLC SSD for the operating system, chosen for lower noise characteristics compared to the TLC flash in standard computing applications. The compute platform is not a limitation for the STREAM1; what limits it relative to the STREAM3 is the power supply.
The Output Bay
The modular output bay accepts the same add-on boards as the STREAM3: PhoenixUSB Board for reclocked USB, SPDIF Board for coaxial, optical, and AES outputs, or PerformanceDAC Board for an integrated DAC. Start with what you need and expand later without replacing the unit.
The LPS1
The STREAM1 ships with a medical-grade filtered switch-mode power supply. For most listeners, the first upgrade priority after purchase should be the Innuos LPS1 linear power supply. The combination is a substantially different and more capable system than the STREAM1 alone. We strongly recommend configuring with the LPS1 from the start rather than adding it later — the LPS1 is not optional if you want to hear what the STREAM1 is actually capable of.
Press Recognition
The Innuos STREAM1 has been reviewed by Hi-Fi+ and Hifi News as exceptional value for the network streaming category, with the modular output bay cited as a particularly forward-thinking design that protects the investment over time.
