AIM NA9 Ethernet Cable
AIM NA9 Ethernet Cable
AIM has been building network infrastructure since 1983 — enterprise installations, not audio accessories. The NA9 is what happens when that background meets a listening room with no budget constraints. Four distinct shielding materials, Telegartner connectors, and AWG 22 solid OFC cores in four twisted pairs. The cable that gets out of the way.
Hoplon: Four Layers of Protection
Ethernet noise doesn't come from one place, and a single shielding approach can't stop all of it. AIM's Hoplon system layers four different materials, each designed for a different part of the problem.
- Pulshut EMI sheet by Asahi Kasei wraps each twisted pair, absorbing radiated and conducted noise at the source — without the magnetic properties that conventional EMI materials use, which can affect the audio signal
- Aluminum shield handles high-frequency interference with the flexibility to wrap cleanly
- Copper shield provides broad-spectrum coverage, strongest in the audio band
- High-density copper braid delivers exceptional low-frequency shielding — combined with the copper shield, it creates a near-impenetrable noise barrier
A conductive inner sheath adds another layer from within. Telegartner RJ45 connectors with 360-degree die-cast nickel-plated zinc shielding at the termination points.
Press Recognition
hi-fi+ reviewer Alan Sircom described the NA9 as one of the cleanest-sounding Ethernet cables he'd tried — with absolute fidelity to the recording as the defining characteristic rather than any particular tonal emphasis. HIFI Statement and Stereo Sound (Japan) also reviewed it with similarly strong findings. Stereo Sound's coverage is notable given the Japanese market's demanding standards for network audio.
