QSATGA Power Cord
QSATGA: QSA, Grand Activation, and Tweek Geek as instigator. We put this collaboration together because the individual elements were already the best in their respective categories and we wanted to hear what they did together.
The Components
The wire is Grand Activation AC-55 — three-conductor, MMAT-treated, shielded AC cable. MMAT is Grand Activation's proprietary treatment applied to the cable itself during manufacturing. The connectors are QSA-treated Wattgate — the same Wattgate connectors available separately in our store, with QSA's treatment applied before assembly. Both the cable and connectors arrive treated independently; the assembled cord combines both treatments at every point in the signal path.
Why the Combination Works
The Grand Activation AC-55 and QSA Wattgate connectors both address AC noise, but through different mechanisms and at different points in the power path. The MMAT treatment on the cable targets noise in the conductors themselves. The QSA treatment on the connectors addresses what happens at the connection points — the contact interface where the power cord meets the wall and the component. Together they cover more of the problem than either achieves alone.
You can build one of these yourself using components available in our store, at your own risk. We've done the work of assembling it properly and stand behind the result.
