AIM NAX Silver Stream — AIM's flagship Ethernet cable. Pure silver-coated OFC conductors with Air 2 foam insulation mimicking the dielectric properties of air. Four-layer Hoplon shielding: Pulshut EMI sheet, aluminum, copper, high-density copper braid. Asymmetric directional drain wire. Available in 8 lengths. Made in Japan.

AIM NAX Silver Stream Ethernet Cable

The NAX is AIM's cost-no-object Ethernet cable — the configuration they built when price stopped being a constraint and the question became simply what the best possible cable could be. Pure silver-coated conductors, Air 2 foam insulation, and the full four-layer Hoplon shielding architecture from the NA9, now also applied to a conductor that moves signal faster and with lower distortion than copper alone.

The Silver Stream Conductor

High-purity OFC copper with a domestically produced pure silver coating — not silver-plated in the casual sense, but silver-coated using a process that AIM controls and refines in Japan. Silver's higher conductivity compared to copper means faster signal transfer and lower resistance-based distortion. The Air 2 foam insulation surrounding the conductor mimics the dielectric properties of air — the most acoustically transparent medium possible — minimizing signal loss at every frequency.

Hoplon Shielding and Directional Design

Four layers: Pulshut EMI suppression sheet around each pair, aluminum shield, copper shield, high-density copper braid. The same architecture as the NA9, now protecting a more capable conductor. The asymmetric drain wire grounds from one end only — install it in the correct direction and hear the difference. The directional arrow on the cable is there for a reason.

Our Experience

We've compared the NAX against the NA9 and several other flagship Ethernet cables. The silver conductor does something. Attack is faster. The bass is more articulate. The soundstage opens up with a precision that the NA9, already excellent, doesn't quite match. Whether that justifies the price difference depends on your system and your priorities — reach out and we'll give you an honest answer.

Press Recognition

The AIM NAX has been covered by hi-fi+, AudiophileStyle, and What's Best Forum. Reviewers consistently noted the NAX as the most transparent Ethernet cable they'd encountered, with no tonal signature to speak of — just more of what's in the recording.
