We came to Innuos the way most serious dealers do: skeptically. Music servers had a reputation for being either finicky computer hardware dressed up in nice casework, or genuine audio components that happened to store files. Innuos turned out to be the latter, consistently, across the range. That's why they're here. The company designs and builds everything in Faro, Portugal — circuit boards, chassis, software, power supplies. The Sense app, which manages playback across local libraries and streaming services, is entirely in-house. So is the OS, which runs on a real-time Linux kernel purpose-built for audio. There are no compromises borrowed from the PC world because the products aren't built on the PC world's assumptions. What that means in practice: a quieter noise floor, better timing, a presentation that sounds like music rather than a processed version of it. We've heard the Innuos difference against general-purpose server hardware in the same system more times than we can count. It's not subtle. The range here runs from the STREAM1 — a compact, highly modular entry point that grows with your system — through the STREAM3 with its ARC6-CX power supply and optional integrated DAC, up to the ZEN Next-Gen and ZENith Next-Gen platforms with their PreciseAudio mainboards and NGaN power supplies. The PhoenixUSB reclocker and LPS1 linear power supply round out the accessories.
