Version: Unbalanced (RCA Only)
ModWright Analog Bridge tube-based pre-preamplifier. Adds tube character to any source in any signal chain position — between source and preamp, or preamp and amplifier. Fully balanced version available. Designed as Dan Wright's alternative to system-specific tube modifications: one device, works with any evolving system.

ModWright Analog Bridge

The Analog Bridge began as a practical solution to a specific problem: ModWright's custom tube modifications for digital source equipment couldn't keep pace with the rapidly evolving world of modern digital. Rather than continuously re-engineering modifications for each new player, Dan Wright designed a standalone product — one that could add the strengths of tubes to any source, any system, in any position in the signal chain, without being replaced as digital technology progresses.

What It Is

A tube-based pre-preamplifier. Place it between your digital source and your preamp, between your preamp and your amplifier, or anywhere in the chain where you want the harmonic richness, spatial quality, and naturalness of a tube stage added without modifying the components around it. Fully balanced version available for systems with balanced connections throughout.

The Analog Bridge doesn't add warmth as a correction for clinical solid-state equipment. It adds the particular quality of information transmission that tubes provide — harmonic structure, spatial dimensionality, and a naturalness to transients — in a neutral, well-implemented tube stage that doesn't impose coloration of its own.

Our Experience

We've compared the Analog Bridge between source and preamplifier positions and found it works well in either. The most consistent finding: low-level information becomes more apparent, the soundstage gains dimensionality, and the overall presentation acquires an ease that solid-state-only chains often lack. The fully balanced version maintains the common-mode rejection of a balanced signal path throughout.

Press Recognition

ModWright has been reviewed by The Absolute Sound, Stereophile, and Hi-Fi+. The Analog Bridge specifically has been discussed as an elegant solution for listeners who want tube character without modifying specific components that will inevitably be replaced.
