Grand Activation AC-55 Bulk Power Cable
Priced per meter. Build your own power cord with the same cable that goes into Grand Activation's finished power cord products.
The Construction
Each conductor is 105 strands of 0.26mm OCC (oxygen-free copper, continuously cast) — approximately 10 gauge total cross-section. OCC copper is produced through a casting process that minimizes crystal boundaries in the conductor, reducing the grain interfaces that conventional stranded copper passes the signal through. Cotton separates the conductors rather than conventional plastic insulation, which provides both a better dielectric and better vibration damping between the conductors. A copper foil shield wraps the assembly. The entire cable is then MMAT treated — Grand Activation's proprietary process applied at the manufacturing stage, not as a post-production step.
The Recommended Connector Pairings
Furutech FI-28 (G): gold-plated IEC and NEMA connectors that work well with the AC-55's character — warm of neutral, large soundstage, non-fatiguing. QSA-treated Wattgate connectors: adds the QSA treatment at the connection points, creating the QSATGA combination we sell as a finished cord. Both pairings are good; the QSA Wattgate combination is more resolving and dimensional at a higher price.
