Hapa Audio Aero Cu RCA Interconnect
Hapa Audio Aero Cu RCA Interconnect
The Aero Cu is the copper-conductor version of Hapa Audio's Aero platform — the entry into Aerogel dielectric interconnect technology. No other manufacturer currently produces a cable with a true Aerogel dielectric at this scale. Hapa holds the patent.
The Aerogel Dielectric
Aerogel is 99.8% air by volume — the most acoustically transparent dielectric material available. Conventional cable insulation stores and releases energy as the signal passes through, introducing time smear and colorations that are audible in resolving systems. Aerogel essentially eliminates that effect. The conductor and the signal become, as much as physically possible, the only things in the circuit.
The Conductor
UPOCC (ultra-pure ohno continuous cast) copper, nano-polished using the process Hapa developed specifically for the Aero platform. The polishing is a physical improvement of the conductor's surface — not a coating — that reduces the micro-distortions that unpolished conductor surfaces introduce.
The Shield
Litz silver wire shielding. Litz construction minimizes eddy currents in the shield, providing RF rejection without the capacitance that a solid-wrap shield would add around the Aerogel dielectric. The material choice for the shield is as deliberate as every other aspect of the Aero design.
Press Recognition
The Hapa Audio Aero line has been reviewed by Part Time Audiophile, where the Aerogel dielectric was cited as a genuine technological advance and the presentation described as exceptionally transparent and natural. In-home auditions are available nationwide through Tweek Geek.
