Hapa Audio Ember XLR
Hapa Audio Ember XLR
The Ember XLR takes the exact internal design of the Ember RCA and applies it to balanced XLR termination. Same eight-wire copper/Teflon braid packet geometry, same approach to clean signal transfer through controlled conductor arrangement. AECO XLR connectors at both ends.
The Design
Hapa's Ember geometry uses the internal braid packet to provide inherent noise cancellation as part of the cable's structure rather than relying entirely on an outer shield. In the XLR version, this geometry is adapted for the balanced interface, where the differential signal handling provides additional common-mode noise rejection at the receiving end.
The Sound
Full-bodied and detailed — the Ember character in balanced form. Musical, lively, resolving without being analytical. The XLR version provides all of the Ember's inherent character plus the practical advantages of balanced signal transmission: lower noise pickup over cable runs, higher signal level relative to ground, and the common-mode rejection that a well-designed balanced input provides.
