Hapa Audio Torsion Cu Speaker Cables

Tørsiøn is Hapa Audio's third statement product. The Aerogel dielectric that defines the Haiku and Aero interconnects is applied here to a speaker cable — a significantly more demanding engineering problem, because speaker cables require substantially more conductor mass and more Aerogel volume than interconnects.

The Engineering Challenge

14-gauge UPOCC copper per leg, run as two separate legs. The Aerogel required here exceeds the volume used in ten Aero USB cables combined. That's not a marketing comparison — it's the physical reality of suspending a 14-gauge conductor in pure Aerogel without the material collapsing. Hapa holds the patent on this application, and the manufacturing capability to execute it at speaker cable dimensions required significant development time.

The Geometry

A nylon separator maintains an optimized distance between the two conductor legs. Keeping them separated reduces mutual inductance effects that smear phase response. The result is clean frequency response from top to bottom without the proximity-effect coloration or high-frequency rolloff that affects cables with legs in close contact.

How It Sounds

Neutral and revealing. Vocals and dynamics have a naturalness and presence that makes other cables audible as add-ons. The soundstage is stable and three-dimensional. An excellent cable for systems already dialed in that need a cable component that doesn't impose itself.
