Hapa Audio Aero AG Digital Cable
The Aero AG Digital applies the silver-conductor Aero platform to S/PDIF coaxial connections. UPOCC silver conductor, nano-polished using the process Hapa developed for the Haiku and Aero AG interconnects. Aerogel dielectric. BNC termination for proper 75-ohm impedance matching.
Silver in a Digital Cable
Silver's higher conductivity compared to copper means faster rise times in the digital signal, which translates to lower jitter at the receiving end. In a coaxial S/PDIF cable, where the quality of the digital edge matters directly to how cleanly the receiver can extract timing, the conductor material makes a measurable and audible difference. The Aerogel dielectric keeps the signal environment as clean as possible between the conductor and the shield.
The Aerogel Advantage
Aerogel's 99.8% air composition gives it a dielectric constant close to that of free space — the most electrically neutral environment a conductor can operate in. Energy storage effects that conventional insulation introduces in the digital signal path are essentially eliminated. Jitter contributions from the cable itself are minimized.
