Innuos STREAM3

We'll be honest: we initially underestimated the STREAM3. Coming to it after time with the ZEN Next-Gen and ZENith Next-Gen, it was easy to assume a lower price meant a lesser product. That assumption was wrong. After a month with the STREAM3 and PhoenixDAC in-house, it's clear this isn't a compromise — it's a genuinely different kind of machine, with its own power supply architecture, its own connectivity strengths, and a flexibility that neither ZEN model matches.

The ARC6-CX Power Supply

The ARC6-CX was co-designed with Dr. Sean Jacobs — the engineer behind some of the most respected linear power supplies in the industry. Active MOSFET rectification instead of conventional diodes, Mundorf capacitors, three independently regulated rails for the mainboard, output module, and SSD. This is a serious linear supply purpose-built for the STREAM3, and it defines the sonic character of the machine. The same supply architecture underpins the PhoenixDAC Board when fitted — both designed together as a matched system.

The Platform

13th-generation Intel quad-core processor, 8GB DDR5 RAM, Innuos's custom real-time Linux kernel, SLC SSD for the OS. Modular output bay accepts PhoenixUSB Board, SPDIF Board, PhoenixI2S Board, PerformanceDAC Board, or PhoenixDAC Board. Start with what you need; add later without replacing the unit.

Press Recognition

The Innuos STREAM3 has been reviewed by Hi-Fi+ and Hifi News. Jason Kennedy at Hi-Fi+ called the STREAM3 with PhoenixDAC one of the most compelling digital front ends at its price — a combination that competes with dedicated separates at significantly higher prices when system matching is right.
