Lumin U2 Mini
Lumin U2 Mini
The U2 Mini occupies a specific and compelling position in the Lumin transport lineup. Like the U2X above it, it is a transport-only device — no DAC, no analogue output, purely a network streaming source for an external DAC. Unlike the U2X, it achieves this in a compact all-aluminium chassis without an external power supply — a meaningful practical advantage in systems where shelf space matters or simplicity is a priority.
The Sweet Spot
For listeners who own or are building a system around a high-quality external DAC and want a dedicated streaming transport, the U2 Mini is where to start the conversation. The SFP fibre network input provides galvanic isolation from the network. USB output handles DSD512 and 32bit/768kHz PCM. Leedh Processing volume control works with compatible DACs for direct amplifier connection. Roon Ready, full Lumin app ecosystem.
The U2X adds a more substantial linear power supply, isolated USB output, and 10MHz clock I/O — meaningful upgrades for reference-level systems. The U2 Mini delivers the core transport capability at a price that makes sense as a starting point or for systems where those additional features aren't required.
Press Recognition
The Lumin U2 Mini has been reviewed by Hi-Fi+ and discussed on AudiophileStyle as exceptional value for an all-aluminium compact transport with fibre network input.
