The Fidelium uses a flat ribbon silver alloy conductor 4 microns thick. This is not a conventional speaker cable in any sense — not the geometry, not the material form factor, not the way it behaves electrically. The flat ribbon form factor produces extremely low inductance and capacitance, which allows the amplifier to see the speaker load with minimal cable influence on the signal.

The Design

Silver alloy, flat ribbon, 4 microns. The conductor is so thin that it's essentially transparent to the signal — low enough inductance and capacitance that the cable barely exists electrically between the amplifier and speaker. Jeff Smith at Silversmith has been refining this approach for years, and the Fidelium is the current expression of it: a cable that gets out of the way more completely than any conventional construction can achieve.

Handling requires care. The 4-micron conductor is delicate. The connection method to speaker binding posts is unusual and must be followed as specified.
