Innuos ZEN Next-Gen

The ZEN Next-Gen is not a revision of the ZEN Mk3 — those stay in the lineup for good reason. This is a ground-up reimagining of what a dedicated server can do at this price point, built on the Next-Gen architecture that Innuos introduced with the Statement Next-Gen. Real NGaN power supply, the PreciseAudio custom mainboard, Sense 3 with real-time kernel. And then it adds something neither the Mk3 nor the Statement offer: genuine modularity for output and storage configuration.

The NGaN Power Supply

Innuos has always treated the power supply as the foundation of everything else. The ZEN Next-Gen runs a RECAP2 linear power supply enhanced with a Gallium Nitride regulation stage — their NGaN technology. GaN regulators operate at a precisely tuned switching frequency that places their noise well above the audio band, and GaN's inherent efficiency means lower heat and tighter regulation than silicon equivalents. The combination of linear supply and GaN regulation addresses both the noise floor and the dynamic current delivery that audio circuitry needs.

The PreciseAudio Mainboard

Innuos's custom-designed mainboard, built specifically for audio rather than adapted from commercial computing hardware. EMI sources removed. Clock speeds, memory access patterns, and latency all tuned for audio playback rather than general computing. The OS runs on an SLC SSD — lower noise and better durability than TLC flash. Sense 3 with real-time Linux kernel runs on top of all of it.

Modularity

Output bay accepts the full range of Next-Gen-compatible boards: PhoenixUSB, SPDIF, PhoenixI2S, PerformanceDAC. Storage is configurable at purchase and expandable later. Configure for your system today; adapt as your system evolves.
