Lumin L2
Lumin L2
For Lumin owners who want to store and serve their own music collection, the L2 combines what would otherwise require two separate boxes — a music library server and an audiophile network switch — into a single chassis with one power supply. Both functions benefit from the same linear power supply engineering that Lumin applies across their player lineup.
The Library and Switch Combined
Two internal drive bays accept up to two drives totaling 36TB — enough storage for extensive hi-res music libraries. The drives serve music to any Lumin player or Roon endpoint on the network via the integrated switch. That switch uses an internal toroidal linear power supply rather than a switching supply, addressing the noise source that standard network switches introduce. Ten ports total: four SFP fibre for galvanic isolation of sensitive equipment, six copper RJ45 for everything else.
The Clock Input
10MHz BNC input accepts a master clock reference from the Lumin U2X or any compatible external clock. When clocked, the L2's switch output is synchronized to the same reference as the streaming transport — eliminating the independent timing sources that create subtle but audible asynchrony in multi-component digital systems.
Press Recognition
The Lumin L2 has been reviewed by Hi-Fi+ and discussed on AudiophileStyle as an elegant solution for Lumin system owners who want local music storage and a linear-power-supply switch without two separate products and two separate AC connections.
