More than pleased

I was looking for a solid state dac to add to my system as a compliment to the Lampizator Atlantic I’ve been using for the past 8 yrs. I saw the great reviews on YouTube and when Mike was going to be selling the Divinity here in the States I took the plunge and ordered.
After just a few hours of playing I was already getting smitten with this dac. Over time things improved further and my decision to get it was satisfied. The Divinity offers a superb soundstage with great depth and separation of instruments. The musicality I hear along with all the details I need make it not only a pleasure to listen to but it really does make it hard to stop. The word analog gets used a lot and I’m not sure what that really means but the way the Divinity conveys the music does make it feel like it’s no longer digital. The Atlantic did this as well but the Divinity gives more information where I can hear inflections in the singers voice that wasn’t noticeable before.
The volume control is such a nice feature and sounds so good I’ve taken out the Truth preamp I was using and simplified the setup with just the dac and amp. The volume control seems to give me a bit better soundstage and more holographic presentation so to be able to have a simpler chain just makes all the more nicer for me.
The wife and I really enjoy listening in the evening and even she notices how fantastic the music sounds now with the Divinity added. I am definitely more than pleased and can give Tweek Geek a high recommendation if your thinking of getting the Garlubidor Divinity to add to your system.

Thank you for the detailed feedback!

Garlubidor Divinity DAC

The Divinity is the flagship DAC in the Garlubidor lineup — a 24-bit R2R ladder design from the organization that also builds Denafrips. If that lineage means anything to you, which it should, the Divinity is worth serious attention at its price point.

"I know of no other DAC in this price range that can compete with this one. It has that R2R sound which is detailed with killer dynamics along with a balanced top to bottom performance. I'd take this over a Pontus 15th, easy." — Steve Huff Reviews

We've spent time with the Divinity in our own system. We agree with Steve's assessment.

The Architecture

24-bit R2R ladder DAC with high-precision, low-jitter OCXO clock. The OCXO (oven-controlled crystal oscillator) maintains extreme frequency stability regardless of temperature — the same technology used in the highest-end digital equipment. R2R ladder conversion prioritizes timing accuracy and musical naturalness over the measurement-optimization that delta-sigma chips are designed around.

Built-in volume control makes the Divinity capable of driving a power amplifier directly — no preamplifier required. Large OLED display is readable from 10-15 feet, which matters in a real listening room. Solid aluminum chassis throughout.

The System

Pair the Divinity with the Garlubidor Fairyland power amplifier and you have a complete, preamplifier-free digital system: streamer into the Divinity, volume at the DAC, directly into the Fairyland. We've heard this combination and it punches significantly above its combined price.

Press Recognition

Steve Huff reviewed the Divinity DAC and called it the best DAC in its price range he had heard, comparing it favorably to the Denafrips Pontus 15th. We've published our own first impressions on the Tweek Geek blog — read them before you decide.
